Santa and French Names

What a title, huh? LOL.

I have 2 more layouts to share with y'all today! The first is one I created using another kit club's papers - gorgeous they are! I journaled just a bit about how my name is Lisette in French (at least according to my 7th grade French teacher) and I titled it the same.

I am so in love with a few things lately. First, the Starbursts from LSG! I love the color and glimmer and I am happy to report that I have not had one clogged sprayer. Next, I am really diggin' those Prima resist canvas shapes. The butterfly on this layout is one of them and I can promise you will see more of them on layouts to come. The third thing I am loving is the new Dusty Attic I just got in from Australia. GORGEOUS! The pink corner flourish is from their new line and I am most impressed.

This next layout is my favorite of the two though. It would figure because it's of my most adorable grandson resting his head on Santa's knee!

The photo was taken at Lander's Photography here in Boerne, TX. We used a groupon for 10 minutes with Santa and got the rights to all the photos that were taken. Christian played along and we got 52 shots! Isn't this photo the most precious? I used one of Florabella's actions on it to give it that vintage feel.

So the dark brown frame is another Dusty Attic piece and both the papers and the poinsettias are from Michaels. I believe the papers are K&Co. I did add some of the Prima North Country roses and also some Petaloo poinsettias and berries that were from last year.

I haven't been scrapping much lately and it feels really good to get back to it!

New Baby

This month at my kit club, C'est Magnifique, we are offering the new 7 Dots Studio line. These papers are TDF!!! (and sorry - but we are sold out!). Here is my sneak peek layout:

This is my daughter and my grandson, just minutes after he was born.

For this layout, I used my newest addiction - the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst in California Poppy Gold. I absolutely LOVE these Starbursts! We have a few left in the store, but I think I need to place another order, lol.

I also really love the little flowers by Wild Orchid. I have noticed more and more people are using lots of flowers on their boy layouts and I'm glad. I love flowers and it's not been easy to create grandson layouts without them, lol.

And for those of you that know me - I dislike banners intensely. So why did I use one here? I just don't know! I had to fill that space with something and those little buggers were sitting there so I used them. I hate to admit it too, but I like it there. I may just have to use them more often (now that the fad is almost over, right? LOL),

So I'll be back tomorrow with some other layouts that aren't kit related. Gotta run now!

A Christmas Book

I took a class with my mom while she was here to create a vintage Christmas book and it was so fun! Here are all the photos (probably not in order, lol)

What fun this was! I plan to do some for gifts next year!

The Scrap Cake at C'est Magnifique Kits!!

I am so in love with everything that Karola Witczak puts out at The Scrap Cake. First her Bright Side of Life line and then Cozy Christmas - oooh la la! There was another line first, but I haven't had the chance to play with it YET.

Anyway, here are the layouts I created with the December C'est Magnifique Kit:

And these four layouts helped me to reach my goal for 2011!!! This is the first year that I have actually reached it. YAY!!!

The rest from the other day

Here are the other layouts I mentioned in my post the other day. This first one is called "Thankful". I do one of these every November where I list what I am most thankful for that year. I have hidden journaling on the pull-out tag that reads:

I am so thankful that my whole family is still together and that we have hit a more stable time in our lives. I also am thankful for the beautiful addition to our family - Christian!

It's just such a miracle that Kevin is still with us and even more so at how well he is doing.

Anyway, here's the layout:

I really love the pale blues, whites and tans on this layout. I wanted the focus to really be on the B&W photo and I love how the harlequin stamp kinda pulls your eye in.

This next one I actually did in the wee hours of this morning. It's a layout of some folks up in NYC that have befriended us through my blog about Kevin. They touched my heart in a deep way and I plan to journal privately on the red cardstock about them.

I believe this one was created using my Birds of A Feather kit from months ago.

This last one is of Moe while we were in the Dominican Republic back in September. I fell in love with these IOD papers and knew just how I wanted to use them!

I especially love the touches of coral I added and I am so glad I found that twine while digging around through my ribbons. I think it just gave the finishing touch to this layout.

I have been scrapping quite a bit lately and I think it makes me just feel better as a person. Thankfully we are settled now and I have a 'real' scraproom! Life is good, eh?

A Scrappy Day

I have been scrapping on and off all day and man, was it fun! Some of the layouts won't be able to be uploaded until tomorrow as it was after dark and too late to take a picture, but I have a few others from the other day.

This first one is called "Those Eyes" and this photo just begged for that title, lol. Naturally, it's my grandson:

If I am not mistaken, everything but the red Thickers are Glitz Design from my Swirlydoos kit. I did use my new Ingvold Bolme craft knife to fussy cut the birds and I can't tell you how much I love it!

This next one needs a little work, I think. I keep toying with making some changes, but probably won't because I'm just lazy, lol.

I love this picture of my daughter. She was pretty far along in her pregnancy here and she honestly just glowed. I just think the layout needs something more behind the spritzed, crinkled paper. Other than that, I do like it. I love the Prima flowers - especially those small colorful roses. I also love that deep edge punch I used.

Next we have a layout with some photos of Kevin sitting outside of the house a couple of weeks ago. I love these photos of Kevin as it shows him being casual, something we don't see often.

The blacks and the greens really called out to me in these papers. I am really trying to use up some of the thousands of dollars of products I have here and as you can see - two items on this layout are REALLY old! First we have the DREAM title which is MM from maybe 10 years ago and then we have the old Technique Tuesday circle chipboard from probably about the same time. I did use my new Prima brick wall stencil though - loved that!

Last, I have my favorite. This is our new home that has offered stability - finally! It's been very hard not having a place to land - a place where ALL of our things can be All the time.

This paper is some older Bo Bunny (I think called Flutterby) with some newer Bo Bunny Welcome Home embellishments. I've had this Dusty Attic frame for a while now and I'm so glad I got to use that too. This one is simple, but I wanted to really focus on the photo of the house. I do intend to journal on the back about how great it feels to finally BE somewhere and to finally be able to stay in one place.

So that's it for tonight. I'll be back soon with the others I did today!

So far behind...

I just don't seem to have time to update this blog lately, lol. I am scrapping more though and I think that's a good thing.

So here are my newest layouts from my kit club C'est Magnifique!. I just love all these international papers!

I also created another and I am so happy to be using those deep edge punches I recently purchased!

If I haven't met my goal - I must be close. Gonna finally do it this year!

A whole bunch more...

I did a layout for the BG challenge at C'est Magnifique Kits (even though I am not eligible - it's all about using up that BG!) that also coincided with The Color Room's newest palette. I am really trying to not be cheap anymore. It's hard though, but I have hundreds of dollars of Prima product here and I need to start using them! Anyway, here it is:

I really do love the soft, romantic feel of this one!

I am also happy to say that the newest kit at C'est Magnifique is shipping out early next week. I was able to pull a few layouts together last night and today and here they are:

You can tell I get lazy on some of them (how sad is that? LOL) and then there are some I will really work on. It's why I'm not DT material - I don't have the energy to go at it all the time full force. If I did though - I would totally be making my own flowers like Lisa Gregory at Swirlydoos. That woman rocks!

Ah well...maybe things will change someday and I can be more 'single minded' when it comes to scrap time.

Tons of Layouts

Yay! Since I started my own kit club again (I so missed running ScrapMuse!) I have been scrapping up a storm. I also got a job at a local LSS and have fun scrapping for them too.

Anyway, here are all my layouts in no particular order. Most are with the first http://www.cestmagnifiquekits.com kit!

Love Those Toes...

Christian really is the most adorable little boy and I just can't stop doing layouts of him. This one focuses on those tiny, little toes of his.

I used paint splatters and just a few notions to bring out an effect I am drawn to while perusing the SB.com gallery. Love this look - but I don't do it often.

So I have been trying to expand my horizons a little bit and watching videos and reading tutorials. Right now I'm into the Shimmerz Vlog - even though I don't have any of their product yet. I know the girls at Swirlydoos are quite fond of it and that's pretty much reason enough for me, lol.

And now off to (hopefully) create some homemade painted masking tape. I love this idea!

Pink

I don't know what's going on with all the pinks, but I am so into them lately. This layout was created with an old Swirlydoos spotlight kit. I just love the papers and those Prima flowers are so darn girly, aren't they?

Anyway, this is my daughter and her boyfriend when she was just in the beginning of her pregnancy.

7 in 1 week!

It's been years since I have scrapped so many layouts in a week! These two were created using the June Birds of a Feather kit. I have to be honest and say I probably would have never bought these papers, but I really enjoyed working with them.

Anyway, the first one is a layout of my son and my niece, Hope, at Kevin's Purple Heart Ceremony. The photo was taken by Rebecca Droke of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette - it's one of my favs!

And it's another very simple layout - focusing more on the photo:

This next one is a picture of myself and all my great friends back in East Brady. I sure miss those girls! And the title says it all - those were such happy days!
